A fine finished brush is used to eliminate brush strokes. Natural bristles are made from animal hair, usually hog or badger. Natural bristle brushes are used for applying oil based alyked paints. High-quality natural China bristle brushes have qualities that control oil-based coatings for better flow and leveling for the smoothest finish. A natural China bristle brush is the best choice for oil-based paints, stains and varnishes. Badger hair brushes are ideal for varnish, topside and high-gloss marine coatings.
There are five categories of Fine Finish Natural Bristle Paint Brushes: Ace; Americana; Badger; China Ox Varnish; and Onyx.
The brushes in these five categories are available with three types of Hog bristle (100% natural Badger, 100% black China, or 100% white China) or a mixture of Hog bristle and Ox hair, set in either a plastic or wood handle. These brushes are available with handle styles of either clear coat, lacquered, solvent resistant, varnished and either beavertail, pencil, pointed or sash handle types. Other selectable parameters include: trim length; trim type; size; thickness; brush type; handle shape; brush grade/quality; bristle type; bristle quality; brush shape; bristle shape; use; features; and density.

The soft flexibility of natural bristle brushes helps to apply a thin, even layer of paint reducing streaks and distributes paint evenly. When using these brushes with natural paints (chalk/milk/clay-based) there is less chance of streaking than with synthetic brushes.
